It was snowing outside. My family and I are on our way to Winnipeg for the weekend, also with one of my friends.
"We should turn around hunny," mother said.
"Why would we do that? The roads are perfectly fine," my dad said with a weary look on his face.
So my dad keeps driving on, the roads are super icy, driving 120 kilometers per hour, no biggie.
My friend and I are really excited to go swimming and just have a grand old time, but we are worried we aren't going to make it with the road conditions like this.
"Dad, can we PLEASE turn around and go home, or at least find a town near by instead?" I said with a worried voice.
We stopped in Brandon, but all the hotels were booked for the night. What are the odds? We keep trucking our way to Winnipeg, thank goodness my dad slows down a bit. If he were going his normal rate we would already be in the ditch. As we turn this corner were skidding and we are all scared but we got back on track.
"That was close, we almost hit the"
"DITCH!!!!"
Of course, there was a bridge under us so I guess you would know what happened next. Into the water we went..
"Oh my god! Were all gonna drown!"
Turns out, the water or creek you could say, was about a foot an a half deep. We were all so relieved except for the car was totalled and my friend has a broken arm. She was paniking.
"It's okay, look on the brightside, we lived through this terrible incodent," I said to my friend.
"It is not okay! We just about died from the crash, if we wouldn't have died from that we would have drown, you're dad is an idiot!" my friend screamed in my face.
"But we didn't.. All of us are here right now, with a pulse,it'll be alright" I told her,"and another thing, my dad is not an idiot, he wanted us to have a good time and he was trying his best to be careful driving."
"Okayokay, i'm sorry, it's technically not ALL your dad's fault," she laughs.
